Motor case
- pressure vessel
- longitudinal stiffnes to carry fin loads and lateral acceleration loads
- air carriage hangers/ground launch attachments/guides
- light weight

Blast tube
- duct between motor case and nozzle/rear end of the missile
- used to provide volume for fin actuator system and other components at the rear end of the missile (optional design)
|
|
Nozzle and exit cone
- nozzle throat determines motor operating pressure and mass flow
- nozzle must withstand very high thermal loads and erosion from combustion gas
- exit cone allows for expansion and acceleration of the combustion gas
