Hypervelocity Missile (HFK)
The Hypervelocity Missile is a testbed for advanced technologies, under the special conditions of main-sea-level hypersonic flight.
Bayern-Chemie participates in this programme with high-performance solid rocket motors and lateral impulse control unit. Up till now the missiles have achieved a velocity of 2000 m/s and a maximum acceleration of 400 g. Special features of the rocket motors are high-energy, fast-burning propellants and CFK-cases.
The next generation HFK rocket motors will feature advanced propellants, novel grain concepts and improved structural design.
